Exploring Metabolic Health in the Cook Islands
The Pacific Science for Health Literacy Project team have woven together evidence from education, health, science and the community to build and test these learning resources. This resource provides pedagogical, science and health background for teachers and learning resources for students that have been tested and refined by the project team.
The My Health Profile resource was developed for students to record health data in a personal booklet with explanations of measures. This integration of health data collection with curriculum-linked learning was underpinned by cultural values supporting a trusting environment acceptable to students, families, and professionals.
In 2025, to mark the Ora‘anga Tūmanava partnership transition, an updated and refreshed edition of My Health Profile has been released, entitled Tōku Ora‘anga Kōpapa. Find out more about the co-design process behind the revised resource here.
