Case Study: Apii Enuamanu

Apii Enuamanu is an area school on the island of Atiu, for students in ECE to Year 13.  Since 2019, Apii Enuamanu staff have played a key role in expanding PSHLP into the Pa Enua, with a strong focus on integrating programme principles into cross-curricular teaching approaches and professional development.

Project timeline

 

  • Engaged in PLD for Me, Myself, My Environment—Nutrition and Diabetes in My Community
  • Implemented Me, Myself, My Environment—Nutrition in Y7 to Y10 classes and Diabetes in My Community in Y10 classes

During COVID-19:

  • Distributed COVID-19 age-appropriate pamphlets to families
  • Explored COVID-19 using PSHLP learning resources
  • Participated in PLD and implemented PSHLP programmes relating to My Health Profile and Diabetes in My Community
  • Participated in PLD and implemented My Environment—Nutrition in Y7 to Y10 classes
  • Continued to implement My Health Profile
  • PLD for Past, Present, Future Environments and inclusion in Y6 to Y9 Health and Physical Education classes
